Established in 1996, A Villa de Mer is a modern, Mediterranean style Guest House that offers a haven for guests to relax and enjoy magnificent ocean views in Port Alfred on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of the Eastern Cape.

Located opposite the beach, with panoramic views of the Indian ocean, this guest house comprises of six en-suite bedrooms and offers luxurious accommodation at affordable prices.

A Villa de Mer is the ideal place to simply relax or to use as a base from which to explore the many sights of Port Alfred and malaria free game reserves in the area.

Executive/Honeymoon suite speaks of sheer luxury and elegance. From the wide windows and private balcony, this suite has a magnificent 180 degree view over the ocean and endless pristine beaches. It is stylishly decorated in shades of white and cream and features a king-size bed with luxury linen. There are two comfortable chairs and table, console, coffee/tea facilities, flatscreen TV with DSTV and Bar fridge.

A very spacious luxurious en-suite bathroom with free-standing bath, rain shower, bidet, double washbasin and heated towel rails. Make-up mirror, bathrobes, hairdryer, personalized Bathroom amenities, beach towels. The walk-in wardrobe has an electronic safe. Sleeps maximum 2 guests. No children.

Suite 2 features an elegant and comfortably furnished room with side view over the ocean. The room consists of a King size bed, console with coffee/tea facilities, bar fridge, flatscreen TV with DSTV, comfortable chairs and wall safe.

The modern en-suite bathroom consists of a shower, double washbasin, lovely illuminated mirrors, hairdryer, make-up mirror, personalized Bathroom amenities, bathrobes and beach towels. Sleeps maximum 2 guests.

Suite 3 has a king size bed that can be converted into two single beds. This suite features two comfortable chairs, console, flatscreen TV, DSTV and wall safe. Complimentary coffee/tea facilities and a bar fridge. 

The modern en-suite bathroom consists of shower facilities only, illuminated mirrors, make-up mirror, hairdryer, personalized Bathroom amenities, bathrobes and beach towels. Sleeps maximum 2 guests.

Suite 4 is a charming room with a king size bed and has a view over the garden and pool. The king size bed can be converted into 2 single beds. It is equipped with a flatscreen TV and DSTV, console with coffee/tea facilities, bar fridge, comfortable chairs and wall safe. 

The en-suite bathroom consists of a shower facilities, hairdryer, make-up mirror, illuminated mirror, personalized Bathroom amenities, bathrobes and beach towels. Sleeps maximum 2 guests.

Suite 5 is our family room, stylishly decorated and consists of a double bed, two comfortable chairs, flatscreen TV with Dstv, console with coffee/tea facilities,  desk, bar fridge and wall safe. The curtained sliding door leads onto an interleading room with 2 single beds. 

The en-suite bathroom consists of a shower/bath combo, hairdryer, make-up mirror , personalized bathroom amenities, bathrobes and beach towels. Sleeps maximum 4 guests.

Suite 6 is spacious and sophisticated and has a King size bed. It is also suitable for a small family as one extra single bed and a cot can be placed in this suite. 

The suite consists of a two seater couch, also a comforter chair, flatscreen TV with DSTV, console with Coffee/tea facilities, Bar-Fridge, electronic safe. 

The room has modern en-suite shower facilities, illuminated mirror, Make-up mirror, hairdryer, bathrobes, personalized Bathroom amenities and beach towels. Sleeps maximum 4 guests in one room. 

Guest Facilities

Enjoy a Full English breakfast in our dining room or weather permitting next to the pool. Picnic baskets, Dinner  on request.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the swimming pool on hot summer days. We have a Barbecue facility in the garden/pool area. There are designated smoking areas around the pool.

A large upper lounge leads onto a balcony with stunning sea views and pristine white beaches and a reading room downstairs overlooks the sheltered swimming pool. 

The spacious TV lounge offers a 19 Bouquet DSTV Channel service that includes 5 sport channels. 

You can relax and enjoy sundowners on the balcony whilst taking in the beautiful views ... Fall asleep at night with the sound of waves breaking on the beach. 

Just across the quiet road the endless white beaches await...
