Port Alfred is a small town located in the Eastern Cape on the banks and at the mouth of the Kowie River, precisely halfway between Port Elizabeth and East London, Port Alfred is a popular holiday destination with sandy beaches that extend for miles. Port Alfred is host to many events throughout the year one of which is the Kowie River Canoe Trail, a 40km-long return paddle and a 12km hike.
